Grinberg 101

The death of Savely Grinberg in 2003 marked the end of the Russian futurism. The film
“Grinberg 101” is a tribute to the life and work of the famous Russian and then Israeli
poet, futurist, member of the Mayakovsky Brigade, master of palindrome, creator of the
original Onegostishya genre, and poet-translator of such famous Israeli poets as David
Avidan, Yona Volakh, Yehuda Amikhai, Shlomo ibn Gabirol, Nathan Zak and others.

People who knew Saveliy Grinberg closely or were influenced by his work share their
memories in this documentary. Among them: Yoram Barsela (former Deputy Attorney
General of the State of Israel), Avigdor Lieberman (Israeli Defense Minister and politician),
Mikhail Korol (poet and scholar-researcher of Jerusalem), as well as poets Gennady Aygi,
Alexander Delfinov, Boris Kamyanov and others. The film contains not only a selection of
the most famous poems, but also numerous drawings and sketches of the poet.

About the Film Director

Eleonora Vertogradskaya (1935-2020) was the co-Founder of Grinberg Bros, Director and Scriptwriter for the film “Grinberg 101”.

Graduate of the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University, student of Sergei Mikhailovich Bondi. PhD in Psychology, Professor of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).
